Question I have a couple of 4L60E questions?

1.) what are the cons of putting a shift kit in at 100k mi?

pros are: firmer shifts= extended tranny life, anything else?

2.) would you also add tranny cooler to keep temps down?

3.) In your opinon are either of these mods worth the time and money with the miles that I have on the tranny?

IMO, yes it is worth it. I had 4l60 go 207000 miles before it went south and then it was only the 3/4 frictions and I was not easy on the trans by any means. As long as it has been properly maintained, I wouldn't hesitate to put a Transgo 4L60e-HD2 and B&M 7024 cooler on it. Just don't go over board with the spacers for the 1-2 shift. You want to firm up the shifts without adding unnecessary stress to the other internals. It will also take care of that stupid PWM. I am also running TCI's fluid, a nonsynthetic that is supposed to run cooler and help the frictions grap better and anything else their advertisement got me with.

Dont put a shift kit in the car you are asking for it to fail soon and its a WASTE OF MONEY. Save your money and get a good tranny from a sponser on here and do it right. Yes you should have a tranny cooler on your car now.

Putting any money into a unit that will fail is a waste. Save your money for a built 4L60E when the stock one gives up.
