Default TH350 In A 94 Z28

Im having some MAJOR tranny issues with the current 4l60e. I dont think it would be cost effective to repair it so after talking to my lead mechanic, I have decided to get a TH350 built. Now I know a couple of the items Im going to need but I was wondering if anyone on here has already done it and has a complete parts list.

Also what kind of mileage difference can be observed after doing the swap? Im going to be keeping stock gears and tire height and I dont drive like a jackass.

It will be around 8-900 rpm more on the highway. Ive went back and forth with th350 and 700r4 and 4l60e in the past. All i can say is i like overdrive too much to go back to a th350. Gas mileage will be noticably lesser but not much.I cant remember the weight difference but was considerable.
But basically you have to either get a long tailshaft th350 or legnthen your driveshaft, make provisions for your detent cable if aplicable as well as the vaccum modulator.

Alright man appreciate it. My uncle can build me up a TH350 for little to nothing. Probably about the same as a stock used 4l60e. And it would pick up my performance potential considerably over a stock 60e.

Brother it is going to feel like a completely different car man. You are going to be driving and waiting for that fourth gear to hit and unfortunately its not there and it takes some getting used to

Hahahaha. Hopefully it doesnt completely rape my gas mileage. It shouldnt do that bad though. Whats the 4th gear ratio of a 60e compared to the 3rd gear ratio of a 350?

Im in the process of doing a M6-TH350 swap. You will need pretty much everything i had to get minus the pedals and shifter as the stock a4 one can be modded for the A3.

Your going to need
-Trans with a 9in tail shaft if you plan on using the stock DS
-Trans crossmember for Th350/ with or without torque arm provisions depending on if you have a chassis mount torque arm already or not.
-Shifter for the A3 or mod the stock one
-Good trans cooler
-Stall converter
-You can also wire up the VSS to the front wheel speed sensor for your Speedo

Thats pretty much all i can think of right now.

You will see very little is any difference in milage around town. You will not the car being a little less responsive in 1st gear due to the higher first gear ratio. You will turn 30 percent more rpm at hwy speeds or more with a high stall converter. MPG hwy will suffer about the same.
