I have a 02 ss with 3.23 gears and will be running a 228/232 114 lsa cam with the mods in the signature, I wanted to know what my drivabilty will be like on the street with this stall. I am more concered about dd driving than track preformance I go to the track every now and then but I need a car that still drives close to stock, will this stall be to tall for what I want I don't plan on changing rear gears, I dont want a soft mushy gas petal in order to get my car to move.thanks any input will help

Ive got the py3600 and the car drives like stock around town. I dont really notice anything until I put my foot to the floor. Then she comes unglued. DD with that converter would be just fine and I think you'd be pretty happy with it.

Theres a thread around here somewhere, where people were complaining that it was to tight and they wanted it a little bit more loose. Give dave a call at Yank he'll be more than happy to recommend a converter for you. He recommended that py3600 for my combo and I love it.

As far as 3600 stall converters go, the SS3600 is "less loose" than the rest. There is no mistaking that you have the converter in there when you drive it. It definitely does not feel "stock" particularly with 3.23 gears but it isn't anoying either. You'll notice the exhaust drone more than the looseness because the RPM's hang a little bit driving around.
With that cam, the SS3600 will be the best compromise for the tightest feel that won't hold back your combo or a future combo should you decide to change it up for something more agressive. Ex. mid sized cams, TV3, G5X2. Also, the shift extention isn't too short for nitrous, 4900-5100 RPMs after upshift.

I've owned a Yank SS3600 it's a good daily driver stall. Personally I'd run a Yank SS3200 converter though if I'd choose again. Traction will definitely become an issue with the higher str or at least it was in my case.
My car is no longer a daily driver though so I went with a larger stall when I added a different cam.

I have a PY3400E and it drives tight in city traffic and then goes skitsofrenic you push the go - pedal. I'll never go back to Vig now that I have the Yank.
Tip: Driveability has a lot to do with the tune and how your tuner sets it up for city driving (shift points, lockup etc.). It makes a world of difference.

Been running the SS3600 for a while now. 383cui 231/235 .643"/.646" 113LSA cam, and it drove GREAT. I went down to Houston, drove everywhere, even to the track and back which was a 120 mile drive. Stall is very very streetable. I think its the reason my STOCK 4L60E is still working, Only thing I have changed on my tranny is the Solenoids and I went 11.18@123 down in Texas, and have been making 466rwhp for nearly 10k miles now with a lot of hard launches. Tranny has 130k on it now haha! Love this converter. Definitely a great purchase.
