Default Were is the best place to buy a built 4l60e

So im hoping in the next few months to buy a built tranny i was going to have a local shop just build mine but i heard some horror storys so im thinking of just buying a new one and not sure were the best place is to get one. I dont need anything to crazy i would like it to be streetable and handle 500rwhp and my budget includeing converter would be around $2500 im planing on useing a vigilante 3600. What do you guys think?

PerformaBuilt level III in my car but any of the sponsors here build good transmissions. All put in the correct parts so it will hold up behind 500 rwhp. Performa sells a package deal with a converter. But haven't read much discussion about their converter's performance on this forum compared to Yank, Vig, Chance, and Hughes. Give Frank a call at PerformaBuilt.

I suspect the horror stories are local shop rebuilds similar to my first rebuild done locally. The sponsors here build some good stuff.

I like my Yank PY3400E better than the Vig 3200 it replaced. Yank is much tighter in city driving. It hangs behind an ATI FI 347 right at 565 rwhp.

No offense to Speed Inc, but I would order directly from the vendor (sponsor - PerformaBuilt, FLP, RPM, etc). I have a PerformaBuilt but FLP (Finish Line Performance) is a sponsor and make some killer transmissions too for BIG rwhp.

FLP and Performabuilt are also on here posting tech support.

If you were to get a trans through Speed inc, the only way there is a core charge is if you do not plan on returning your core.

I think you might have FLP confused with FLT. We actually build all there transmissions for them.
