Default Stall or trans acting up?

When I foot brake my car it absolutely will not spin the tires. It just stalls up to about 2400RPM and sits there.

It is a brand new yank PT3800 stall.

When I kick it down it seems to flash to about 4200RPM also.

I should be able to blow the tires off I would imagine with 3:73's outback.

Just looking for a little insight from the auto guru's. This is my first stalled/auto car.

Thanks.

A simple tip that has helped me when doing burnouts is to let off the brake some. You are clamping the back brakes also, so releasing it some will help getting them to break loose.

I think I have burnouts pretty well mastered. Just not sure why it is so hard for the car to spin them.

even if I stall it up to the 2400 - 2500 and let off the brake the car will not spin my crapy sumitomo's. from a roll a stop nothing. So I am trying to figure out what is wrong with it.

It is. But, the concept for breaking is the same. I just took my car back out and it seems like the trans is slipping bad in 1st and second then starts to pull hard in third.

I need to buy a new trans I am thinking. Maybe I will take a video later and post.

If the trans is slipping it won't sit at 2400 when trying to power brake.

Sounds to me like it's not tuned and not really in 1st, it's in limp mode.

Is it tuned?

If you're sure it's in first why not just stomp it off the line without using the brakes at all?

I'd go out and shut it off, assuming you have no tuning equipment or code reader, reset the computer, start the car and try it before you drive enough to put it in limp mode.

Take it to the road, shut it off. reset the computer, start it up, put it in gear, mash it to the floor.

I did that. It just makes a lot of noise and leave out of the whole really slow.

When I mash it. It just barks the tires real quick then it just goes. takes for ever to shift from 2nd to 3rd at WOT or just cruising.

I will take it to get it tuned next week. See what happens.

Was it tuned for the gears? If not then thats another problem.
Try that test again but shift it manually.
If you went from 2.73 to 3.73 it's going to shift too soon with stock programming and it's actually short shifting 1-2, and 2-3 and taking forever to shift 3-4.

It has been tuned for the gears. Speedo reads correctly for the gears that are in it.

The car broke on the dyno before I purchased it and they did not get a full tune in it.

It has a huge Tsunami cam in it and it idles great and drives around pretty decently.

But, it has crap power when you stomp it. The motor is screaming but I am not moving.

I am going to take it to EPP next week and have Brent tune it and see if that helps.
