Default No 1-2 3-4 shifts????

Hey guys have a 1996 Z28, did alittle bit of searching and hopefully found my problem.. trans is rebuilt did not slip at all then all the sudden. it wont go into first or over drive.... u have to manuall go into 2nd then to 3rd.... any ideas????

I ordered a new 1-2 3-4 solenoid can anyone tell me how to test the current ones to make sure before pulling the pan?

You are in limp mode. Did you scann for codes before ordering those solenoids? Do you have a stall and if so did you have the car tuned for it ?

no I dont have a code scanner.. just assumed.... no stall... anyway I can self diagnose this? where is the plug to the trans could it possibly be unhooked by chance?

The big plug is on the passengers side just above pan rail about mid ways back from front of pan.
You can get codes read for free at AUTOZONE.

Agreed, sounds like your stuck in 3rd. Find out what codes are set, and go from there.

I pulled the codes and it said shift solenoid B... I bought the 12 34 soldenoid so that should work....... Can anyone tell me, whats all involved in swapping it out.

again no stall.... car is stock trans is rebuilt. wich soldenois is B

the wasiest way to tell and not be confised by left/right up down etc
The two shifts solenoids are at rear area of the valve body , they are side by side and identical.
One of then has a spring behind it so it feels tight and if you push in on it , It comes back out. They other feels floppy like its loose. Thats the 2-3 "shift solenoid B"

alright I put the solenoid in and now my trans shift like it should in all gears. but now theres a new problem.. under heavy load 80-100% throttle at higher rpms the trans like shifts into neutral instead if shifting to the next gear? any ideas what it could be

Recheck fluild level sounds like it low. Has to be at very top or just above crosshatch with car running and warm.
