Default 6L80E Swap Questions

I’m looking to swap a 6l80E behind the 2005 6.0L LQ4 that I have. I think I would need to change the PCM to an E40 from a LS2 GTO (supports 24x reluctor wheel). My main questions are:
1. Am I correct on the ECM that I would need?
2. Is the Internal trans computer in the 6L80E compatible with the E38 PCM and TCM
3. Is the TCM even needed for the swap?
4. Is there anything I would need to change, besides the ECM connectors?

I just want to make sure I have my ducks in a row before I go investing in this, and end up with a pile of new parts I can’t use. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I beleve it has to have the 58x wheel for it to work right as well as the Gen IV 4x cam sensor as well. And use the E38 or E67. The E40 I don't think will talk to the T43 TCM in the 6l80.

I case you missed these older threads in Hybrid forum, they might help answer some of your questions. At least you will have two contacts so you can see which route you want to go.

Unless they just released it for the 6l80 it won't work. The regular 4l80 ones are different.

TCI paddle shifter as designed will not paddle shift a 6L80E. There may be a way to use just the paddle setup to activate momentary switches in a home built switch box wired to 6L to paddle it.

The 6L80/90 has a built in controller that communicates with EMC, so what would be the purpose of or, need for TCI controller too?

TCI doesn't make a controller for the 6l80/90! I called them the other day and the tech said they didn't have one for the 6l80/90!!!!! How about you call them!

Your talking about their in house six speed with paddle shifters which is based off a GM 4l80!
