Default Powerglide Help

I am having a problem getting over 6,000 rpm in my dirt track car. About the only thing that I have not replaced is the transmission. Is there anything in the tranny that would prevent it from getting over 6,000 rpm? The motor pulls hard right it and then its just like it hits a wall and can not get over 6,000. I have tried 2 motors, different cams, 2 carbs, put in a new distributor, new torque converter. No matter what I do I cant seem to get over 6,000 rpm. Im open to any suggestions or ideas.

Im running the glide in high (1 to 1) and have 5.67 rear end gears. Im hitting the 6,000 rpm mark at like halfway threw the striaght away. Is there anything in the tranny that could cause me to only get 6,000 rpm?

I have tried every thing i can think of: new fuel pump and filter, new distributor, new plug wires, new torque converter, differnt cams, different heads and springs, different carbs, a new block. About the only thing I have not chaged is the tranny and the battery. But I had the battery load tested and it was good. I have been having this problem for a couple years now and the only two things that were the same between ever car is the tranny and the battery. I am complety out of ideas of what it is.
