Default Switching to a TH400

So I recent traded my T56 setup for a PTC built RMVB TH400 with a brake and 4400 stall. Any of you guys running the 400s have any tips or pointers for me?

Don't do burnouts in 1st. Start in 2nd, shift to 3rd, then roll out. Otherwise you may F up the trans.

Experience. I have helped my little brother change to many of them in his 8000 rpm small block Nova. I have only rebuilt mine twice in my Big Block 6500 rpm Pontiac.

Thats because the Th400 used a snap ring.....it would release at high RPMs. The fix (and comes factory in the 4L80e) is a spirolock.

A competent builder should know to swap that out.

A good tranny guy should have you covered, just tell him your goals and he "should" be able to get you hooked up.
