Question Weird tranny problem!!!

well i have a 94 z28 that had its original tranny taking out because it kept burning the clutch pack and thats even after installing the trans go and super servo...(original problem 2-3 shift) i was given a heavily built tranny from a 95 trans am and i mounted it but the weird thing is the car doesnt shift 2nd gear... its like it goes into neutral when i manually shift it... so basically i have to speed up the car in order for it to shift to 3rd and eventually overdrive...

im having my original tranny rebuilt... also the current tranny makes the car run at 60mph at 2,000 rpm when the original tranny ran the car at 1500 rpm at the same speed... this one has me stumped, so any help from you guys is appreciated

The present trans has some issue with the band and you probabl;y actually only have 1-3 and lockup

that could be possible... but the thing is that the tranny when it was taken out of the trans am was working perfectly, and that trans am did 14.1 1/4 mile
