being doing some reseach ! at the moment i have a 700 r4 out of a 91 truck in my 78 C10 with the 5.3 i didnt really consider the TV cable or VSS when i was looking for a transmission ,now i came across a 98 4l60e out of a c/k 2wd 1500 truck am i better off running this trans ??? can i still use my adapter for the converter ?? is it easier forme to run VSS with this 4l60e transmission im yet to get the harness built !!

You would have to use the electronics to use it and if the engine is a 5.3 and you used the 5.3 converter you would not need any adapter.
The primary advanatage you would gain is programability

ok so even though the trans can from a non ls1 engine ( 98 350 truck) i dont need to use my adapter? also can i use the converter which came with the 4l60e and a stanealone harness should work the 4l60e vss right? im asking these question because i will have to pull the trans latter today to swap it tomorrow
