4T65, can it last?
Gang, I am doing a little bit of research for a friend who is looking at the LS4/4t65 platform for an upcoming sand rail project. It should weigh anywhere from 1600-2000 pounds when complete with passengers and ready to hit the trail. If the engine is left stock I think that the tranny will last a good long while due to the weight differential between a stock vehicle and the buggy, and the buggy always running in sand/dirt etc. If we decide to lean on the motor, is their anything that can be done to this thing to make it live other than a good cooler? Do any of the aftermarket 4L65 parts swap over? How about a converter?
