Default clicking sound

When i put the car in reverse and let it rol back a little and then hit the brakes real quick I hear a clicking sorta sound. I'm thinking it is my front u-joint. it also does this if i take off from a light with my gear selector in first and let off the gas at around 10-15 mph.

Anyone else have any idea what it could be? hopeing it isnt something in the tranny, i definatly hear it from the rear part of the trans and where the front of the driveshaft go.

I crawled under and moved the D/S around by hand, but couldnt get it to produce the same sound.

this is a 2000 z28 A4

I would try the u joints first, as they are cheap and relatively easy to replace.
