http://www.f-body.org/gears/

this site might help you out. i checked different gear ratios and with 3.73s you would be 70mph at 2400rpm. if you had 3.42 you would be 70mph @ 2200rpm.

sounds like you have 3.42s. 70 with 3.23s is about 2050-2100

jack the rear of the car up, put the trans in neutral. I had a buddy turn the back wheel till the valve stem was perfect at 12 o'clock. Mark 6 o'clock on the driveshaft which is facing to the ground where you are looking. Turn the driveshaft until your buddy signals the valve stem has made one complete revolution and is back in the exact same spot. If the driveshaft has turned about 3 and 1/4 you have 3.23s. If it turned about 3 and 1/2, then you have 3.42s.

You can find out what your car originally came with by checking the RPO code sticker on the door. If it's GU2 it was 2.73. If it's GU5, it was 3.23.

According to the f-body.org chart, 2200rpm @ 70 = 3.42s, 2400rpm @ 70 = 3.73s. You seem to be in between, for which there's no gear set ... so you probably have one of the above.

If you want to try backing into what gears you have, try the link below. Since rear tire dia can make minor to major difference depending on dia, look it up on mfg's website, are measure them.

I'm pinned at 1950 going 70 with 3.23's A4. I like it.
