Default Anyone running 390 gears in there LS1...

Looking for a little more oomph down low/mid range and I was thinking about swapping the 342's for some 390's. Anyone have any experience w/ this ratio?

I have been in autos with 3.73s and 4.10s. I could imagine 3.90s would be a great in between gear.

Runnin 3.90s for a few years now and alot of track passes. Love em, notice alot of noise on deceleration though. Probably need to be re schimmed. I did mine before I did the the stall and trans and picked up three tenths in the 1/4 over 3.23s.

wow that sounds awesome

Ive been thinking about going with 3.90s with my ss4000 install and it sounds like it would be worth it even though i dont plan on having the 10 bolt forever.

I mainly did it cause all the auto guys do 3.73, and I wanted to be alittle different. When I do the rear swap for a 9" I'll step up to a 4.10-4.30, probably the later. It's a blast too, suprises alot of people.

what brand of gears should i get in 3:90 for the 10 bolt? I know some are known for being noisy or harder to setup.

I have had good luck with Motive's. Summit brand gears have been noisy for me. Lots of people also seem to like SLP/GM/AAM, all of which are made by AAM

Running motive gears in mine. We set them up good and I do have some noise as the car de-cellerates but really that is due to me beating on the car relentlesly and I think they could use some fine tunning.
