Default Where should I get my Transmission?????

Just wondering who to go with for my new trans. Mine is going out and will be dead soon. So, since I plan on doing some mods to the engine soon. Which aftermarket trans does everyone thinks holds it's on. Your thoughts would be great......

Thanks

depending on your budget you could call rossler or gearster.or there are always the sponsers.

I highly recommend Vince over a FLT. Great guy to deal with and takes time to help build your transmission to what you are looking for.

go with the sponsors that know these trannies.. stick with the shops that have happy customers like performabuilt and FLT.

These folks speak the truth....when it comes to quality and holding up to whatever you want to throw at it, FLT is the only choice.

FLT, you could talk to Rossler as well, but FLT gets my vote hands down.

I'm not going to say anything bad about FLT, I know from experience and researching that I performabuilt lvlII was the transmission for me. Quick delivery from the time of ordering, great warranty and the best of all for me is if anytime in the future I break it for $950 (after going out of warranty) they'll rebuild it.

I called them up told them I wanted a trans to hold up to 450rwhp, Frank suggested lvlII called him back 6months later and said I just turned the boost up to 600rwhp and he said you'll be fine. Lots of good sponsors on this site, Performabuilt is one of them. Plus anytime I pm or email I get a reply back almost immediately no matter 6:00am or 11:00pm.

What really sealed it for me was I found a guy who had a problem with a new Performabuilt I pm'ed and asked about the experience. He said they sent out a new trans immediately without hassling me to test this or look into that. I tend to want to know how a company handles a problem versus when everything goes as planned. Again nothing agains FLT but don't discount Performabuilt.

never had a FLT but would love to try one. so far frank at performabuilt refuses to give me an excuse to try FLT haha. the service has been outstanding and the transmission takes all of the abuse i can throw at it. the warranty cannot be beat! us truck guys put these transmissions through more abuse than the cars due to the weight we push. im sitting at 4500 lbs cutting 1.67 60' times spraying a heads/cam/intake/nitrous LS1 out of the hole. i depend on it to get me an hour from my house, do some drag racing and drive me home. it has never left me stranded. im not sure what FLT prices look like now days, but when i ordered up my performabuilt, i remember it was quite a bit higher. you cannot go wrong with either company but do some research. FLT will be mentioned more because they have been around ls1tech alot longer. im glad i went with performabuilt, and had i got an FLT i would probably be singing the same song for FLT. in my situation i went with the best price and quickest delivery time.

I hear great things from the two sponsors on this thread.....I happen to have a PB LVL II transmission w/3000 stall and have been very happy with it. In addition i have been very happy with any technical questions i had and answered by Frank at Performabuilt.

performabuilt definitely has top notch service, no doubt about that. My experiences with FLT have been great too. You don't ever really hear about people needing FLT to fix one of their broken transmissions though, b/c they don't break.

I'm guessing you broke a performabuilt? What level transmission and what 60' and hp were you running through it?

i wouldnt say flt is the #1 choice by any means, people have had just as good or better luck with performabuilt and their service, shipping, and product built time is ALL top notch, irc i had my trans within a week from calling them and everything was perfect right off the bat, and in the case that i would have a problem i have 100% confidence that it will be handled to the best standards....cant beat a 2year no bs warranty either!!!

and aside from that their product is a HOSS, i personally watched a lvl 2 go 10.40 with a 1.360ft without a hiccup...
