Default Whats needed to mate a LS1 to 700r4

Yea I already know that many of you guys dislike this transmissions but right now its my only option. What would be needed? I have been told that I need to swap for a custom converter. But on the other hand I have also been told that with spacers and longer bolts it will work just fine. Can I have some of you guys imput. By the way I am trying to go the cheapest route for the moment. I dont plan on racing it but just to get it running. Thanks guys

You'll need the tci flexplate for turbo 350or turbo 400 to ls motor and the spacer at the very least.

This would do the trick...

I believe you can use the stock flexplate and the holes would need to be elongated for the 700 converter. That has been mentioned a few times but I don't know for certain, myself. If that is the case, then all you need is this spacer...

I have read that some have not used the spacer but I won't be brave (or foolish) enough to try it. Apparently it is added support for the converter. If someone has more knowledge on this please feel free to correct me.

Try Advance Adapters. They have a modified flexplate to mate a Gen III to 700r4/1 piece case 4L60E. You can use any converter designed for the older 4l60e/700's. The kind with the pilot hole. The Gen III uses 300mm bolt circle converters. AA modifies them for the older 298mm converters. Easy stuff.
Double check the part numbers but this should be the right stuff. I know you need the beveled plate and maybe a spacer. You could modify the bolt holes to make it fit.
Flex plate PN. 12551367
spacer PN. 12563532
longer bolts PN. 12563533
