Default Adding fluid to 4l60e help needed FAST

On my way to work my tranny started acting up. I would give it gas and it would go up to 4500rpms and wouldn't shift gears. It was at 4500 rpms from 45mph all the way to 70mph. I barely made it to work. I looked in the owners manual to find where I can just add some fluid to it, and it wasn't helpful. The only thing In can find under the hood for the trans is the dipstick. Anyone know if I just need to add some fluid, or is my trans shot. The fluid is brown, but does not smell burnt. It's in the parking lot at work. I just need to atleast get it to my house 25 miles away. Any help would be apprciated. I need to get it out of the parking lot asap. Its an a4 with 87k miles.

that dipstick is where you pour the fluid in.

Thanks, I guess I'll add some fluid and hope the tranny's not shot. Hopefully I can just get it home. Anyone think it's blown or just needs fluid???

sounds like its blown. youd be lucky if all it was was low fluid levels. and hope that those low fluid levels didnt damage something.
