MY 4l80
#1
MY 4l80
I just finished my 80 swap here is the list of stuff I used.
4l80 from a 99 chevy truck,redone by a local shop
PY3600
Ross lock shift box
cat flywheel
BMR crossmember
spearteck VSS plug
#6 line and rpm sent me some cooler line fitting for the case
My recent set up was a 400 with a tct 3600 RMVB. It was pretty much a straight swap except for the BFM to the trans tunnel.
The Ross lock works very well converter locks when you tell it to. It will only lock up in 3rd and 4th gear. The down shift part needs some sort of modual control done cause what ever gear you down shift to is what it will go into Carl told me that vacume module? Would take care of that if i remember correctly? Not really a big deal for me but I will probably take care of it in the near feature.
The pro yank seems to be doing its job, hard to tell at this point cause it only has 25 miles on it. Seems to be a little on the tight side but thats ok to cause I am only on 6psi and hope to be around 10 real soon so hopefully it will lossen up with that as well. I am taken it easy on it until she gets broken in. Just tried to flash it to see where it was at a couple of times.
The car cruise's at 70 mph 3.73 gear 26 inch tire @2700 rpm, a lot better then my 400 LOL.
FWIW I did this hole swap in my drive way by my self
Thank you YANK,BMR,RPM,Carl Rossler and Ls1 tech
