Default Performabuilt lvl2 Yank4000ss Overheating?

Like stated in the title i just installed a Performabuilt lvl2 trans after my stocker went. The car runs fine for a while, but after an hour or so of driving the car doesnt want to lock up and it seems like the trans slips real bad. I then have to turn the car off and back on again for it to run normal. It did the same thing with the stock trans after I installed my Yank SS4000. Should i run 2 coolers? or maybe a cooler with a fan? Is heat whats causing this? Any suggustions or help is greatly appreciated here. Thanks.

Do you have an ideal what the temp is? Did you get the car tuned after the stall?

You could buy a laser temp gun to make sure its actually overheating.

I just dont see whatelse it could be. Its very frustrating though. I suppose this would be a lot easier if I knew what temp the trans was running at.

I know what you mean I'm having trouble with mine right now. I cant tell if its the trans or something else. No one can figure out what it is and I'm real frustrated.

I think you might have a code issue that is keeping the lockup form not working. Have you tried to scan your vehicle for codes? Vince

The thing is is the day i got everything done i had it out and put over 100 miles on it that night with no issues. Today i take it out i have an issue within the first 30 mins. The only difference between today and yesterday is that its a bit hotter today... 15-20 degrees hotter... I will get a scan tool and scan it tonight.

Yes sounds like you are setting codes possibly a po757 i would guess. or with no lockup possibily being disabled by engine missfire detection.
