Which 4000 RPM converter ??
I think Im going to get a YANK 4000 converter . My question is the SS4000 (2.6 str ) or a PT 4000 (2.2str ) Im going to probably be runnig Nitto DR's since it is only going to be to the track @ 10 times a year ( maybe more ?) I figure with the PT4000 it wont hit the tires so hard and it will have more top end . The SS4000 might be too much for the Ntitos and Ill just be smokeing the tires . Keep in mind I only have the stock 10 bolt w/ 3;73s . I would rather spin a little than break .I will also be doing LT's ,a cam and an LS6 intake soon .So its not going to be stock with a 4000 RPM converter .

There is a big difference between those converters. The SS will be more friendly on the street, and it will hit hard as hell out of the hole. Will Nittos be enough? Hard to say...some get them to work and some don't. I couldn't hook my SS4000 with Nittos.
The PT series are monsters with awesome top end, but they are pretty loose for daily street duty. It all depends on you. I liked the SS4000, but when I moved up to the PT4400, I never looked back. For my setup, the PT4400 outperformed the SS everywhere.....especially topend. It's very tolerable on the street, but that is a subjective statement. Everyone has different views based on what is streetable and what they are willing to deal with.
For a mostly streetcar, I'd say the SS4000 would be the perfect choice. Search for Chrs1313 and look what he's done with the SS4000....it's absolutely amazing. For a max effort car, look no farther than the PT series!

I've daily driven a pt4400 and a ss4200. In comparison, the ss4200 was way more street friendly, but the pt4400 wasn't bad. You can adjust the lock up tables in the pcm to make any converter streetable.
