Default Gear stuck after WOT

I was getting onto the freeway, came up to the meter light and go to punch it, well my tires being sumitumos, I know arent the best. Well I burned a little rubber then got going. As I start driving along, I notice my car wasn't shifting right (A4), my RPMs were going up as I was driving, almost like it was stuck in gear or something. Well parked it off to the side for a few mins and drove off. It was fine after that. This has happened once before some odd months back. Its an FLT level 4 tranny with a Circle D +2C (3400-3600) converter. Anyone know have an idea what could have happened?

I lose 1st and 4th gear and lock-up everytime the tranny gets about 1 quart low on fluid. I would start there first.

Sounds like maybe limp mode. Have you scanned for codes?

your going into limp mode due to the high stall converter. The computer thinks you got the stock stall in there and its slipping too much which puts you in limp mode. Limp mode will lock out all gears but 3rd. Easy way to reset it is to pull over and turn the car off for a min. That will reset it for a temp fix but you need to have the pcm reprogramed and the code po757(most of the time ist that code) shut off and it wont happen ever again.
