12 bolt the weakest of the upgraded rears but yes it's a good start and will hold quite a bit of power.

Cool thanks maroon-

i guess i need to evaluate how much im going to be driving, iv read that going with a 12 bolt is not a good idea with a daily driver...which it is right now ( long country road and big ole fat doe jumping in front of the truck was not a good combo ) so for now, shes my daily driver.

just a little more info on the issue...

if i am on the highway in the left lane ( @70 mph) against the concrete medium you can hear a noise that sounds like a (loop) within a (loop), its rhythm and cadence sounds like the gears are eating them selves... i hope that make some kind of sense.

thanks again for the knowledge !

Engine - SLP lid, LT headers w/ you pipe, slp smooth elbow, stock ported tb.

Exhaust - Hooker 3" cat back

Trans - CPT "Pro Race" build 4l60e w/ protorque 2800 stall. Energy suspension transmission mount

Stock rear end w/ 2.73 gears

Dyno tuned at 328rwhp and 350 rwftlbs on 89 octane pump gas

This is my DD. I just got the transmission and converter installed and honestly I am not happy with it. It will shift from 1 to OD before 35 mph under light throttle. Trying to launch it has one of two outcomes. 1. Bogs and slowly comes up threw or 2. It snaps right to the Rev limiter and won't shift until your completely out of it. I am hoping it's just in need of a tune to compensate for the new trans and stall.

You have to consider rear end ratio too for gas mileage with a stall - city or highway. With 3.73's at 75 mph you're deeper into the throttle than if still running stock 3.23 gears.

As for a tranny cooler - get a bar and plate VS tube and fin - much more efficient per sq inch of surface area. They have some great technology built into the latest style bar and plate coolers.
