They're not much more than that brand new. If it's slightly used that's not too good of a deal. I believe they are the type of converter that just welds an adapter ring onto a smaller diameter converter, but double check before taking my word.
I would recommend looking for a slightly used or even new yank/vig/fti/circle d. You can get a brand new one for 400-500 and a slightly used one for 300-450 ish.

Well it doesn't have that adapter ring welded, and it looks pretty decent. I can't attest to the quality and stall rating, but the price isn't too bad.
I'm always against reusing TC's but if you trust the person it's coming from than it's not a bad price.

It doesnt look too bad for the price but I would do a little more research on it first. A converter of lower quality (not saying this one is) can be pretty painful on the street. Do they slip alot? Are they loose? Do they flash way higher or way lower then what a "tighter" converter would do? All of these questions come into mind when looking at a converter like such. Like the ole saying goes, "You get what you pay for".

Ah, lol sorry I didnt catch the part where your friend was buying one, in all honesty, I dont think alot of people have heard about it, nor have i heard about it, I would save up and try to buy a used Yank or Vig first before I bought a "boss hog". Just my .02

That IS NOT a billet converter like Yank, FTI, VIG, or Circle D. Period. its no different then a TCI or any of the other cheap junk they sell on ebay. That is likely a stock photo, and even if that was the actual converter which Im sure it isnt, it isn't on par with billet front converters period. You are being fooled by that wonderfully written sales pitch in the ad. Thats exactly what they want you to think. A billet front converter will cost a minimum of $700. Thats likely an old cavalier converter. Do some research on how and what torque converters have on the inside of them and then you will understand.
