Default Where to get bolts?

Im rebuilding a 4l60 and the internal bell housing bolt's heads stripped out. Apparently GM used a special size torqs(sp?) bit for those. I would up having to grind off some of the head and weld another bolt to it and back it out with the help of a torch.

The dealer wants $8 a bolt and I need 8 of them. Just wondering if I had any other options?

you should rebuild mine while your at it.

I have the same question.
I was just going to go to the hardware store and get regular bolts, unless they end up hitting the backside of the torque converter.
No one should have to deal with those horrible t50+ bolts.

It is doubtful that the big box hardware stores are going to have that big of a selection of metric bolts. I would pull out the phone book and look for a local bolt and screw place or a Fastenal store. I have mine out right now as well and I will probably replace them with some regular hex head bolts as well.

It's a torx T-50 plus (note the plus). It's not the tamper resistant torx, that's different and has the little stud in the center of the fastener. Its a torx with rounded sides to have a more positive engagement.

If you're asking about different bolts that are the same size but different head than i'm sorry, i can't help.
