Default 6L80e output

Does anyone know the output shaft stickout and bolt pattern of a 6l80e in a 2wd application with the tailshaft removed? The 4wd shaft sticks out 3 11/16". Is the tailshaft bolt pattern anything like a t400 or a 4L80e? How much of the shaft is splined?

I am trying to attach it to a NP205 transfer case. Advance Adapters makes a 4l80e to NP205 adapter that is for a 2wd 4l80e, they make nothing for a 6l80e. A 4l80e can also be adapted with a little machining on a factory turbo400 to 205 adapter, or there was also a factory 4l80e to late style 205 adapter. But is the back of a 6l80e the same as a 4l80e????

The bolt pattern is not even close to the same.

Wow, that is very interesting. The 4l80e setup from AA uses a 2wd 4l80e with 6.5 inches of output shaft stickout, just like your picture. The np205 uses a 32 spline female input, to match a 4l80 and t400 output. That output shaft is splined all the way also, so it could be trimmed as needed. The 4l80e and t400 tailshaft housing is 6 bolt like your picture, but that 6l80e looks like a bigger bolt circle. Do you know the bolt circle? Is that output the same 32spline that matches a 4l80?

Edit: Actually, to use the Advance Adapter kit, you must cut the 4l80e output shaft to 4.5". The important part is that the shaft is fully splined.

The output on the 6l80 is 32 spline like the 4l8. I believe itsbigger the pattern is the same size as the round 6 bolt transfer cases side.

The 6l90 has a bigger 34 spline output.

EDIT: Just use a 4x4 6l80 and the stock round adapter to a round NP205. And you will need to add a VSS to the 205.

Anyone for sure know the bolt circle diameter of the 6l80e extension housing, and if the 32 spline output is the same as a 4l80e??

Still can't seem to find any actual data on the 6l80e output and extension housing. A turbo 400 output is 32 spline by 1.365", with an extension housing bolt circle of approx 5 7/8 inch. Scaling the picture above, if the output shaft is the same diameter as a turbo 400 output, it looks like the 6l80e extension housing bolt circle is about 6.5". Can anyone confirm?

If it is simply a difference in extension housing bolt circles, I can make a relatively simple spacer and adjust the bolt circle to clock the transfer case for more ground clearance.

Anyone?

I had an AA/Marks adapter from my 4L80e and was able to use the same output extension with the 6L80e so the splines are the same.

Back from the dead...but did you ever figure this out?

Im trying to adapt a 2wd 6l80e to a 208, 229, or 241.

ShawnQ. Did you ever get your 6l80E bolted up to your NP208? I will be doing this EXACT same swap. I need to know what is required to bolt the 6L80E to the NP208 transfer case!
