Default lock up converter with manual valve body.

I have a performabuilt stage 2 60e (great trans btw) but I am giving it to my brother for his grand national. But he doesn't want to get the standalone for it. He rather have it with a mvb. But the trans guy who was gonna do it said that lock up converters and mvb's are a nono since the trans will burn up or something is that true? Can I put like a standalone lock up like the 700r4s? Or would I need to get a differant converter? Thanks!

Default

You can put a toggle switch on the lockup solenoid and turn lockup on and off which is what i would do that or a vaccume lockup kit like some use with the 700r4.
