I am planning to swap over to a 4l80 this spring and I would like to know what parts are going into the 4l80's that can handle 1000 rwhp.

I have a close friend that is going to do the assembly. He has a lot of experience with th400's and powerglide


I realize we have several sponsors that are fully capable of building a transmission like this; however I would like to take a part in building my own this time.


What parts are needed for a build like this? I would like to get a specific parts list for this.

The best thing to do is stick with your builder's suggestions. It takes much more than just parts to make a transmission live at that power level.

I deff realize that, but the builder that is helping me hasnt built an 4l80. Glides and th400's are his specialty. I'v heard that a 4l80 is a 400 with o/d so I think we can handle the 4l80 assembly

We just wanted to get a heads-up on what is being put in 4l80's that can hold that power.
