Shift Extention Question
I'm running a 32-3400 VIG convertor now and I'm either going to send it back and have it restalled or buy a new convertor and sell the one I got. I read that a higher stalled convertor is going to have a higher shift extention. Is this true with all convertors? Do all convertors with the same stall speed have the same shift extentions? I know that the 3400 Vig I've got will stall almost to 4,000 on takeoff, but drops too many rpms between gears. Rear gear ratio seems to be a factor. The same car with a 2.73 rear will stall higher than a 3.73 rear. Anybody running a 42-4400 Vig on here that can give me some feedback. I'm never planning on spraying and like to do this while its winter. I did alot of searching but most of the links in the older posts aren't good anymore.

stall
yes the gears play a roll... less gear= more stall more gear = less stall alot of people like to see 600-800.... if its to much... might need to hold the gear a little longer..........
