I recently swapped an LS376/480 crate engine into a 1999 Trans Am. I had the transmission rebuilt by a local shop with a dacco 2500 stall converter, beast shell, and 5 planet gear trains. When I put the converter on the shaft, it went back, then I rotated it and it went back further. I think I installed it correctly, because the transmission bolted to the engine, and the converter bolted to the flex plate no problem. I filled the transmission with 6 quarts of fluid. When I started the engine, and tried to put the transmission into gear, the tires wouldn't turn. None of the gears work. It's like the car is still in neutral. I have no idea what is going on, and I was wondering if anyone else had ever experienced a problem like this.....thanks

a dry 4l60e will hold 11-12.5 quarts depending on converter and cooler size.

and yea a dry 4l60e holds alot more then 6.... more like 10-12 i think, 6 is just like a pan drop and filter swap

You need alot more than 6 quarts of fluid first then go from there.
