couple questions?
well here it goes i think my trans is toast so im replacing it along with the converter and flywheel. my questions are...
1. where can i find a decent deal on a flywheel.
2. how good are circle d converters for a dd with alot of track time(lookin at a 3200 stall)
3. what do you guys think of this trans http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...TQ:MOTORS:1123 it comes with a 3 year parts and labor warrenty(i know this isnt a sponser and im not tryin to step on toes or promote a non sponser but it sounds like a good deal)
by the way my car is a 147000 mile stock motor car original trans went out at 100000 (my fault) was replaced by warrenty with a 70+k trans wich i guestamate at about 110000 now the car will have full tubular rear suspention bolt in sfc and i run a 125hp dry halo kit i will also be adding exhaust as soon as i get the rest of it i have lt's for it

I'd highly suggest using one of our sponsors for your replacement tranny. You might pay a little more, but you'll get your money's worth ten times over. I run the FLT Level 4 unit and it just laughs at all I can throw at it. Do yourself a favor and call them...they'll take very good care of you.
As for Circle D, that's definitely a step in the right direction. With the 3.73's, I'd look into something bigger than a 3200. Perhaps a 3600-4000. Chris is great to deal with and his product is top-notch. Any of their converters will be very streetable and perform great at the track. I run their 230mm 5000 stall with 3.23's and it's docile as a cow on the street. Good luck!

1. Look up LS1 flexplate on ebay. Lots of them on there. I personally have the CAT that goes for about 80 bucks and its been fine so far. You are gonna want to type the bold correctly otherwise you arent gonna like it when you go to bolt it up to the car.
2.Circle D seems to have a pretty good rep, as do all the converter manufacturers on this board. Cant go wrong with any of them IMO
3. Nobody has much good to say about fly-by-night trans sellers from ebay. The sponsers here build trans that you can beat on everyday for the best price around, period. Thats why we buy/support their products.
Good luck

When I arrived to pick up my new FLT tranny, Vince took my old tranny apart to show me where it failed. I was disgusted that I had paid a dime for that tranny. I'm not saying this company would serve you the same way, but you won't have the same guarantees you'd get with a sponsor.
I'm simply trying to save you the heartache of going through the down-time and headache of constantly pulling your tranny for warranty work. When you buy from a sponsor, this is an extremely rare occurence. You can literally throw anything you like at them, and never worry about a thing. It's piece of mind that's worth paying for IMO. You might luck out with that tranny, but it's a big gamble. And remember, if the tranny goes it usually takes that nice, expensive converter with it. Is that worth it to you? I can certainly respect trying to rebuild a spare, but with a great tranny a spare isn't really necessary. Good luck either way man!

Like stated Circle D has a good rep here, Im sure you cant go wrong there. I looked and did research when I did my trans and it took me a long time to decide, but i ended up going with a lvl 2 performabuilt and i havent had a problem since the install. The warranty and all that on the ebay trans your referring to may sound great, but when i put a new trans or anything new for that matter i dont expect to take it back out and send it back in for warranty work. I like to put things in and know its going to be reliable and not break at the track. Ultimately its your decision we are just here to give opinions. Hope all works out well for you no matter what you decide.

The 278mm is designed for NA setups and amazing street manors. It is very budget friendly. I have not seen a problem with a 100 shot or so, so I think you would be safe.
Having said that, you will see better performance gains going to a smaller diameter converter, but the price does go up. Just depends on your goals.

Whether that transmission is good or not, I wouldn't buy a transmission off ebay.
I've always supported the sponsors on this board even if I have to pay a little more. I haven't been let down yet.
