Any difference from an 02 4l80e to a 05 4l80e??

Default Any difference from an 02 4l80e to a 05 4l80e??

Like the title says. I know the cases are the same, But just not sure about the electrical connections.

There were some changes in the epc solenoid and the harness in 04 I believe. Also the case and pump have changed a bit where the cooler flow ports are in 04. If you have to change a pump in the 04 and later case make sure to match up your rear part of the pump with the replacement. Note to self take pictures of this next time you build one! If you do not you will have a huge leak in cooler oil. Vince

OK thanks for the info, I ran into a good deal on an 05 trans and I wanted to use it to replace the trans in an 02 work truck thats slow to go into drive with 300k on it lol.

as far as swapping in, you prob will be ok, swapping parts bet the two, there would be issues-i have been looking for an 04 valve body, as something was changed, but still cannot find out exzactly what

The only thing that I see different in 04 is the change to the epc and the internal harness. Obviously there will be different separator plates for vehicle calibration. However the internal springs and valves from what I have seen are all the same. Vince
