Thanks for the compliments James - we are constantly working on our 6L80E program - we've come a long way in a short period of time, but much more to go. Yes, this is a VERY challenging unit, both electronically & hydraulically, compared to the 4L60E & 4L80E.

fafnir - Good questions...We are still in the testing stages...I can't answer that question with certainty. We have some units that are in cars in the 800-900 HP ranges. The shift timing is actually controlled by the computer - it would be a tuning modification.

fafnir: We are in the beginning stages with this transmission in terms of determining this transmissions potential. We've dealt with more clutch capacity and we are also in the design phase of redesigning some of the mechanical parts in the unit. This unit works very differently than it's predecessors.

Fafnir: The problem is not getting it to shift at higher RPM's it the torque converter that shuttles at low speeds - that is a common complaint. And, all the tables are not present in HP Tuners for the TCC Operation. Also, some of the pressure tables appear to be missing as well.
We are not selling the components at this time.
You could remove the line adapter and thread the case for an AN adapter.
The pancake filter does filter - it has a dacron material in it that actually filters very well. It pulls fluid from the sump thru this filter to the pump.
Thanks for the questions! Let us know what else you need!

looks sweet. i have very high expectations for the 6l80e.
can you tell me how hard it would be to get to the solonoid wires? i would like to extend the wires to outside of the tranny and try some external control of at least the main line pressure noid and the tcc noid.

parish8: Thanks for the compliment. We have not actually tried to take the TCM (TECHM) apart. We know someone who has and they destroyed it. You cannot access the solenoids without undoing lots of solder joints and molded plastic. E-mail me your e-mail address and I will send you pictures of the TCM (TECHM).
Thanks!
Thanks!

on the lock up you would only need to tap the ground side and not even cut the factory wire, just tap onto it. on the pcs1 you would have to cut the ground lead. do you know wich noid is the tcc and wich is the pcs1?

As for a standalone system the Vans get the 6l90 for 2010. Well they use the D-max in front of them as well. Anyone know it its a standalone system itself for does it talk to the D-max motor as well?

We would have to say that it communicates with the ECM because the TCM is actually in the transmission on a 6L80E/6L90E.

Doesn't the ISS see engine RPM off the converter?

There is a lot of information exchanged between the trans controller and the engine controller to keep them operating in relative harmony .
