Default Looking to go auto...convince me!

Like the title says with all the traffic i have to deal with around here ( 55 mins to go to work each day its only a 10 mile commute). The t56 just isnt as fun as it use to be lol. I cant decide what kinda auto to go with if i do. Was thinking th400 but i do take the car on long trips from time to time dunno how well that would workout without overdrive. Ive read the 4l60e can be made pretty strong but i dont want to have to worry about my tranny grenading on me as i do take it to the track twice a week when the track is open. Currently making 401 hp to the wheels full bolton car, trex camshaft. Stock crap 10 bolt lol. Plan on spraying the car with a 100-150 shot down the line once i get my transmission taken care of. im either gonna get the 6 speed built or go auto soo convince me! lol

At your power levels I think a 60e and a good converter is the best choice. A well built trans will hold your power levels. You will really appreciate the OD and lock up on the highway.

That shouldn't be a problem! If I had cash I would do a trade plus cash for my complete setup. I'm sure you will be able to find someone without a problem though, good luck.

I would think a nicely built 4l60e would suit your needs perfectly. I like both 6-speeds and autos and will admit that 6-speeds are more fun on the street but an auto with a good sized stall isn't far behind at all. I used to hate automatics with a passion until I put a stall in my car a couple years ago, completely different animal. You will love it at the track, super consistent and the launches are insane!
