How well do these hold up with near stock power?
I am planning on installing a vig 3200-3500 and b&M cooler this spring. However, I'm very cautious because the lil lady will kill me if blows things up lol. How are these 60e for holding up without being built. Keep in mind my power levels are staying where they are and I'm not spraying at all with it. Also I'm planning on leaving tm on so as to help with longetivity. Am I destined for the doghouse here or with a good size cooler is it typically not too bad. I don't expect anyone to predict with great accuracy here, I'm just looking for some experienced folks opinions. Anyone blow up their **** with just a mid size converter and cooler feel free to chime in with how many miles you had and details on the car's use (dd, drag car etc). Or am I better off to wait till next year when I can afford a built tranny? My car has about 60,000 miles on her now and I don't race it. Previous owner was a doctor and likely didn't race it either. But who knows these days
Thanks guys.
*I know this topic comes up a lot but there doesn't really seem to be any real general consensus on the topic. From what I gather it's really a hit and miss, and that scares the **** out of me

So bypass or not bypass the radiator. Does lower stalls tend to last longer or is it more based on quality of the converter in question. For instance, would a 3000 tci typically outlast a 4000yank based on lower stall? Or is it simply the build quality one must look at? I know that a higher stall is probably harder on the tranny though.

Why? FLT and performabuilt have told me its fine to bypass the radiator. Performabuilt actually recommends it. I have been running a plate type B&M since I've had my car with the radiator bypassed.

Depending on location. The radiator "cooler" actually acts like a warmer up to the coolant temp which could be as high as 230 degrees. It aids in warming your trans fluid, I have noticed that after I bypassed my stock cooler, it warms up a lot slower. if you are below freezing temps you should prolly keep it. We have blazing hot temps down here so its not an issue.

Yes stock transmission, took a while to get used to since I've driven manual cars all my life. Overall like it alot. It is set to lockup at about 40mph which is good in traffic. Great feeling when you step on at a stand still or low speeds. Get some ricer flybys when taking off slowly due to I guess the noise I'm making. Haven't beat on the transmission to much but at least once a week or so I have the urge to "clean out the pipes". Had this set up in 9/09. Good luck with your decision.
