Default Th400 tranny filter?

Im new to auto's been a stick guy for yrs,but here's my?I picked up a bm deep pan for my th400 tranny now I had to take out the filter to put a exstension tube for the filter. Now when going back to bolt the filter up its slanted towards the back of the tranny and it has about 1/2" of play,is that supposed to be like that?

from what I'm gathering it will be fine. do you have a spacer that goes between the filter and valvebody on the bolt that holds the filter? will the filter sit parallel in relation to the pan, and the extension tube stay firmly in the hole?
