TH400 shifter cable adjustment with stock shifter?

TH400 shifter cable adjustment with stock shifter? I recently purchased an 02 SS with a th400 swapped into it. My only gripe is that it uses the factory shifter and it seems that the shifter does not exactly match the actual gear selection, for example it goes into reverse in between the P and the R, its close but its not right. How does one go about adjusting it? and its a reverse manual if that matters. Thanks in advance
