Sluggish shifts
Installed a YANK SS4000 a couple of weeks ago and finally got to take the car for a test ride. It definitely needs a little rpm's to get it moving but I like it. I noticed that the 1st. to 2nd. and 2nd. to 3rd. shift is quite sluggish and the overdrive won't shift until 45-50mph. and sometimes I have to take my foot off of the gas to make that happen. Do I need to have the car re-tuned with this converter? Thanks.

Yes it needs to be tuned for that converter.
You're probably not feeling 4th, it's probably lock up.
Select your tuner wisely, I have a tune file someone on here emailed me. Done by a popular mail order tuner on this site, painfully obvious why the tune baked his PB trans.
I wouldn't drive it much, if at all until it's tuned, my 3600 was throwing it in limp mode (stuck in 3rd) almost right away. Going from a stock converter to something loose makes it hard to tell it's starting out in third.
I had HP Tuners logging from the first test drive and caught it, tuned it.

I guess I'm just used to the tight stock converter and need to drive the car more and get a feel for this upgrade. Anyway, I have to put 150+ miles on it before I can put my foot in it !!!
