step on the gas, doesn't go forward, goes in reverse fine
hey guys,
ive got a 1996 4l60e with a 1996 impala lt1. when i step on the gas, i barely go forward. If i really mash, i can get up to 10mph ~. checked the fluid levels, looks right. when i pop it in reverse, it goes in reverse fine.
i picked up the engine/tranny as a combo. engine runs great, but tranny condition was unknown when i bought it. now its in the car... was told it had 60k miles on it, but who knows.
what do you think the problem could be?

you don't think its the input sprag? i've never rebuilt a 4l60e, not sure exactly which would be more likely. google searches seem to bring up the input sprag alot.
what do you think? also, is it difficult to rebuild these guys for those specific problems? only tore down a 5sp manual before...

Check to see if you put shifter in D3 if it moves good in foward than the sprag is no good,if no change then it is probably fowards are gone IMO.I am the wrong person to ask if it is difficult i do 2-3 a week on average,First get a good tech manual read thru and see if it is something u want to try.
