So I drove my car almost 5 hours with no problems, this is a to and from combined. Mostly cruising speed of 75/80 on the Interstate with no stops. Make it to my exit and stop at the light. Light turns green and I go to step on the gas and all it does it rev up. Had to shift it into 1st to take off. Was able to go into second after that and then 3rd at higher speed. Trans temp went from 130ish to 180-190 in a matter of a minute. I was right down the road from my house so I parked it, checked the fluid, was ok. No other problems that I can tell.

Kinda has a clunking sound when trying go after switching from reverse to drive, hit gas just revs. Will drive only from 1st.

Has a brand new pump, and Yank SS3200. No leaks at all. What could be wrong?

Speed Sensor Maybe?

If you have to select manual 1 to get 1st gear, then it sounds like the low roller [one-way] clutch is not working.

It will only drive in 1st gear, in drive it just revs with no acceleration, as the same for 3rd, 2nd is hit or miss.

Also reverse works fine.

UPDATE:

Pump still works, and its just 3rd and 4th that are out. Still heating up fast not sure whats with that.
