Default Pulling the tranny

So, any tips or tricks to get the 4L60E to seperate from the block, cause we can't get it to budge. Got all of the bellhousing bolts out and everything unhooked, the dowel pins must be really stuck in there. Had been working on other stuff for a few hours so gave up on it for the night. Any words of wisdom before the next attempt at removing it?

Did one for the first time yesterday and not too bad. using a prybar and some patience we got it out. The use of the transmission stand made it alot easier.

Yep got those out first, they seemed harder to get out than the bellhousing bolts. It was getting late when we got to the point of trying to break it loose, so didn't work on that too long. I'll have to break out the pry bar when I work on it again.

use a can of wd40, a pry bar and push on it with your feet, your legs are a lot stronger than your arms

I'm gonna work on it for a little bit tonight. My dad has some better pry bars that he is gonna bring home from work. I hope to get it apart, get the stall on and get the tranny bolted back in tonight if possible. We are leaving town tomorrow and will be back sometime friday, so I might try to finish it this weekend if I can find time. Got a B&M 24k cooler that I'm going to mount dope style.

first time i took mine out after fighting with it with multiple size prybars. i heated the bell housing a bit by the dowls with a buddies torch to make it expand. after that it slipped right off.make sure when you put it back together to coat the dowls with anti-seize..

Thats exactly what I had to do to get it off. Just heated the driver side and that side came off. Once we had the driver side started, fought with the passenger side and got the whole thing off.
