Default How hard is it

Ok need to change my tranny its slipping and hard shifting how hard is it to take the tranny out and do you have to pull the motor. I have never really done any tranny work. Is it hard to mess up just installing it. Whats a quick estimate if i get a used tranny and put it in myself. Any input or help would be appreciated.

Thanks Drew,

I dropped my M6 with my gf's dad. I had never done it myself, but he had a little prior experience. You don't have to drop the engine, just unbolt the trans from the engine. Not sure how different the A4 is from the M6 however.

you need a very long extention with a swivel head. Its not that bad,but thr trans is kind of heavy so be careful. good luck

Do you guys have any tips on putting the converter in? and what bolts to take out first so the tranny wont kill me falling down? I was thinking putting a small jack under there or a jack stand
