Default My 4L60e Fail & Rebuild Thread - Lots Of Pics

Well got sick of crappy workmanship from a certain company and decided to hire me a real builder...

All the parts in the fail are not bad, but you can see which ones are. This is after 5 hours of driving. No hard pulls or stop and go, all interstate.

The Fail..

Reverse Input Drum(bottom), got so Hot That the Fingers got Pushed Out and Don't Line Up Anymore with the Reverse Reaction Drum/Shell

I did not see a collar over the splines of the input drum or new piston. There is no way that trans will hold 700 hp without that mod.A stock drum is good to maybe 450 hp max.Just my opinion.

Yeah aamco, it was just a normal rebuild... for the 3rd time, could never give me a straight answer why it kept screwing up, so I said FU. Trans would fail less than 24 hours after R&R. I got bad pump, clutches, wiring harness all for excuses multiple times. Turns out just shitty workmanship with crappy tolerances and parts. The above happened after 5 hours of highway driving.

It was well priced. Out of repect for the builder I will not disclose price.
