Whats wrong with my 4L60E?
Okay so tonight I'm just driving along normally down airbase pkwy (a two lane road) and this guy in front of me was going slow so I pulled in the right lane to pass gave my car about 1/4 throttle and my trans down shifts to the gear is suppose to be for a split second then jumps down to I guess first gear and about bounces off the rev limiter I back off and think it was just a fluke so as I make my turn onto my friends street I notice that the transmission won't shift.
So on my drive home I have found three problems it won't shift into any gear when I am pressing the gas, when I give it to much gas it downshifts or slips into the wrong gear, and when I am at speed only had it up to about 60 I hear a clanking sound coming from the tranmission.
Is it my pump or converter? or?

And yes it was tuned for the conveter not sure on the size tho.

Ive heard of this problem before, the 4l60es overdrive gear is known for giving out if you dont downshift it manually. Ill try to find the video that explains it more in depth, but that sounds like your problem.
