Will a 4l65e fit?

I have a 01 trans am with 4l60e and 3400 vig stall.

Will a 4l65 out of a 06 gto bolt in and work with converter?

and how much power are the gto transmissions good for?

The 4l65e will work. However I'm not positive the bell-housing and/or tail-shaft is the same. Do a search, I'm sure its been covered.

I've got a 4L65E out of a 2006 SSR in mine. I had to change the tailhousing and shifter shaft. Both were 5 min. jobs.
