th400 and stock shifter problem

th400 and stock shifter problem I did the 400 swap, the stock shifter is all messed up. park on the shifter is 1st gear in the trans. if i put the shifter link on the trans facing down like on the 4l60 i get the shifter and trans both in park but when i shift to reservse or drive it hits the o2 sensor. Is the shifter link strong enough to bend it some to clear the 02 sensor, or am i stuck with a backwards shifter?
