Default ATI Tree master non-lock up 8" race converter

Anyone utilizing this converter with their racebuilt 4L60E? I know it's a non-lock up. What has to be done to the trans to make it work? Any input is appreciated. Thanks

To turn a 60e to a non lock up all you need is a non lock up valve that goes in the pump & take the ball & capsule out of input shaft.Make sure you put a trans temp gauge to see fluid temp as a non lock up tends to run a little hotter. Why do you want to turn it into a non lock up?

We have a 230mm converter we are making for the 60e. It has a stall range of 4500-5500. We can make it lock-up or non lock-up.

The reason to go non is to save weight. If it is a track only car and you never use it, the might as well take it out.

Transgo makes a valve kit for what you are looking to do. Here is what it says on their page.

4L6-CCV 4L60E 93-04 Converter Conversion Valve: Corrects converter flow to primary pump area so converter will stay full under high load. Use with non lockup converter.

Hope this helps. Vince
