Default is this true??

i am gonna order a tranny for my 98 z28 but i was told by a guy here where i live that i need to make sure the transmission i am getting is one for a 98 ?? i didnt know if u had to replace it with the same year transmission he told me something bout the electronics are different on mine or something like that any help is greatly appreciated

The only thing that I can think of off the top of my head is that the LSX 4L60Es have removable bell housings, while the older generations do not. That may be what he's talking about there.

All 98-02 F-body 4L60E's are the same i think...i dont see what would be different unless your getting a 4L60E off of a truck or suv then yea the bell housing is different and maybe the electronics.

98=2002 f body v8 all the same
the truck units can be used also when they came with the 5.3 and 6.0 with some minor mods .
Anyone you order a trans from should know what you need if not you should not be ordering from them.
