Default General Transmission Question

Hey this is non-LS1 related but I was wondering if someone could help me. My buddy has a 98 Dodge Ram with a transmission line leaking. It has a small pinhole in it where the line has rubbed the front crossmember. He is in the process of selling the truck and just wants to slow the leak if possible.

Is there anyway to wrap a transmission line with anything to stop the leak? I don't know of anything. If he has to we will replace the line. Thanks!

It's a steel line. How can I cut the line without kinking the where I cut it? The line is laying right up against the crossmember so it is in a tight spot.
