newb question on torque converters

Default newb question on torque converters

did some searching around and saw this post from some dude:

I assume they welded it on but could not tell u why.

That hub rides inside the rear of the crank. Maybe for some reason it wasnt engaging properly or something. That acts as a center and support for the torque converter during operation.

That's what I was thinking too. I just never heard of a shop doing that. Good thing, otherwise you'd have to get a new torque converter if the tc hub wasn't going into the crank or crank spacer all the way.
